The Knights of the Crimson Cross © is
an Christian youth program created by Jeffrey Gassler to help develop moral character in Jr. High,
High School, and College Students. In today's culture there is a plethora of negative influences and role models
that are impacting children, teenagers, and young adults. To combat this collective of negative influences, Sir Jeffrey Gassler has
founded a training ground to teach young knights to be like Christ and "not conform to the world" (Romans 12:2).
At The Knights of the Crimson Cross students will learn the ethics of honor, courage, integrity, trustworthiness,
loyalty, and valor that derive from the Code of Chivalry. The Code of Chivalry was written
in the Middle Ages by monks and is based on the principles of The Holy Scriptures. The principles that the Knights
of old practiced are as relevant today as they were then. Employers are looking for the values contained in The Code
of Chivalry. This program will help build the character reputable companies are looking for. Upon enrolling in The Knights
of the Crimson Cross, students will build their holistic self. The disciplines that will cultivate and expand
the spiritual, intellectual, and physical sides of students are known as The Three Disciplines ©.
The Three Disciplines
I. The Spiritual Disciplines ©

"The Spiritual Disciplines require aspiring knights to memorize scripture, lead prayer, attend worship, do
acts of service, and delve into other Christian literature (examples: The Imitation of Christ by Thomas A Kempis,
Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis, Velvet Elvis by Pastor Rob Bell, and His Utmost For His Highest
by Oswald Chambers)." (The Knights of Crimson Cross Manuel, pg 9-10, © Copyrighted by U.S. Goverment).
II. The Intellectual Disciplines ©

"The intellectual Disciplines require aspiring knights to read from classical and historical texts relevant
to knighthood, chivalry, and the Middle Ages. Examples of texts are: le morte de Arthur (The Death of Arthur) by
Sir Thomas Malory, Sir Gawain and The Green Knight, Ivanhoe, God's Battalions: The Case for the
Crusades by Rodney Stark, The Song of Roland, The Tragedy of the Templars: The Rise and Fall of the Crusader
States, and The Lord of the Rings Trilogy. The goal of this discipline is to expose young knights to models
of chivalry and to promote discussion. Students will learn to think critically and come to their own conclusions about what
they have read." (The Knights of Crimson Cross Manuel, pg 11-12, © Copyrighted by the U.S. Goverment).
III. The Physical Disciplines ©

"The Physical Disciplines require aspiring knights to strengthen their bodies via physical exercises. Examples
of exercises are: Long Sword Fencing, hiking, marching, biking, and etc. The goal of this discipline is to create a healthy
body. Studies show that a healthy body creates a healthy mind and healthy mind a healthy soul. Knights of yore were perpetually
training and exercising. They were keeping themselves fit because a battle could happen at any time." (The Knights of
Crimson Cross Manuel, pg 12-13, © Copyrighted by U.S. Government).
Using these Three Disciplines,
students will develop moral character, deeper spirituality, greater wisdom, greater knowledge, and healthier bodies. This
program is to nurture each part of a person and help them develop a sense of worth, confidence, competence, and security.
The Knights of the Crimson Cross is to be a brotherhood where young people from Jr. High to College can feel accepted and
a sense of purpose.
While knights were predominately men, there were women knights known as Dames in
the Middle Ages. This program is open to training both boys and girls. At moment the focus will be young men, but if young
ladies are interested there will be accommodations made for training,
